New Ideas and Different Perspectives

My name is Bishop Ateo. The Blue Snake website consists of my own new ideas and different perspectives, but I'm not posting my email address. I'm not ashamed of my radical, unpatriotic, blasphemous and non-conventional way of looking at the world. I'm comfortable with whatever I've written - at least at the time I wrote it. But due to my other websites, I already get enough complaints from the offended and emails from people hoping to save my soul.

My most provocative writings will be found here, and I just don't want to deal with more negative feedback. If you disagree with a thought, create a blog and say what you have to say. If you're too offended by my views, stop reading. I don't force my opinions on anyone, and nobody is forced to be here, so I feel free to write whatever I like.

Recent Ideas, Thoughts and Opinions

Illegal Immigrants and Reagan - August 8, 2011

You might think that Reagan was like modern Republicans when it comes to issues of immigration. Not a chance. About the worst he could say was to call them "illegal tourists." He advocated amnesty, and looked at illegal as simply people who want a better life. Read my latest post here... Reagan and Immigration

What About Torture to Save Lives? - July 10, 2011

Should we make allowances in the law for torturing in the name of saving lives? I think it would be a terrible idea, and yet I also think we should not feel that we are always bound by every law. We need leaders who are subject to the laws of the land yet have the courage to break them as necessary. Continues here... Laws About Torture

True Prejudice Revealed by Gay Jesus - April 6, 2011

The Christian faiths of the world might struggle with their idols being gay. Would all the good church-going folk all stick with their Christianity if it was proven that Jesus was homosexual? If not, what does this say about the tolerance that many of them imagine they have for people of all persuasions? Continues here: A Gay Jesus

The Worshipping of Evil - December 25, 2010

The god that Christians worship, or at least the god of those Christians who claim the bible is sacred and is the word of God, is evil. Worshipping Adolph Hitler would be no worse. Here's a look at the evil intent of this "god." Continues here: Evil God

Cultural Preservation Nonsense - October 6, 2010

What is being preserved and why should it be? Is there really some reason to preserve traditions and cultures just because they have been around a while? Why lament the loss of traditions and cultures when those changes come about from voluntary choices? Continues here: Cultural Preservation

HIV AIDS and Military Spending - September 9, 2010

A program President Bush started in 2004 is keeping 2 million people in Africa alive with AIDS. In fact, those with HIV can now live long lives usign treatments that cost less than $300 per year. What if diverted some of our military spending to doing just that? Continues here: AIDS in Africa and Military Spending

More on the Meaning of Property Rights - August 17, 2010

...we allow for the taking of what is "ours." This seems to negate the concept of property rights. It doesn't if we see them as a matter of what is best for people - starting with what is best for the individual owner - but not excluding the interests of others. We seek our personal interests as individuals, but a government seeks (we hope) to serve the interests of everyone, or at least the people within it's jurisdiction. Thus we balance property rights of the individual against what is best for... Continues here: Meaning of Property Rights
